So many individuals turn to the approval of their families and friends, to successful careers with all the trappings of titles, and to material riches from designer clothes to lavish houses in order to feel good about their lives, their accomplishments, and their selves. But this should not be because these are but temporal – and, thus, temporary - riches of the mind and body. Regaining your self-esteem through God is the best course of action!
But we understand that taking the Christian route toward regaining self-esteem, self-respect and self-confidence can be a difficult path to follow – there are just so many reasons, temptations and excuses to take the temporal way instead of the spiritual way. Here are a few tips on overcoming such challenges and triumphing with Jesus Christ as your savior.
Begin and End with the Bible
All the answers to life’s questions have answers in the Bible including what to do when you are depressed, confused and tempted, among other low points in life, as well as what to do when praying and praising God for his blessings.
You must then begin and end with the Bible in your search to rebuild your self-esteem through God. You should read, understand and meditate on biblical scriptures that reinforce God’s abiding love for His children including yourself with the most helpful verses being:
Jesus will give you the strength to become whole again!
Be inspired by the knowledge that, just as Jesus prayed for Peter, He will also pray for you – and nothing can be more helpful in your quest to rebuild your self-esteem through God than knowing that He is with you, too.
You will also be inspired by the knowledge that you are a child of God and that when God is with you, no one not even the voices in your head telling you otherwise can be against you. You are a child of God and worthy of love – change the negative voices in your head with these thoughts now and reap your rewards soon.
Begin with Your Actions
As your mind slowly but surely changes its tack from negative to positive, you can also slowly but surely regain your self-esteem through God with your actions. Think of it this way: When your mind leads the way to faith in Christ first and faith in yourself second, your actions can follow.
Each day, you should act, speak and behave as a child of God, kingdom citizen, and a good man. Your fellow individuals will see these actions and start respecting you for what you are – a person who wants to please God first and foremost and, in so doing, become a happy, fulfilled and accomplished individual in your own right.
Indeed, regaining your self-esteem through God after a traumatic event is filled with doubts and despair because you are but human. Fortunately, when you let God take control, you are well on your way to becoming a victor in His name.
